A Japanese card company bought New Japan Pro wrestling for $6.5 million.
thanks to Jason Marshall
The new owner plans to expand the company internationally and take on the WWE. He also wants to be involved as a performer, most likely as a personality than a wrestler. To be honest as cheap as it was sold for I don't know why Vince McMahon didn't buy it for the tape library alone. Or TNA for that matter, to add talent and credibility to the company and have a larger international presence for the price. The low price of the sale and the ego of the owner makes me wonder if they will make it past 2 years.
